UDUAGHAN DEFIES DOWN POUR, COMMISSIONS OLOMU BRIDGE GOVERNOR EMMANUEL UDUAGHAN (CENTRE) DEPUTY GOVERNOR, PROF. AMOS UTUAMA (LEFT) AND COMMISSIONER FOR WORKS, CHIEF GEORGE UGBOMA, DURING THE COMMISSIONING OF THE OLOMU BRIDGE. History was made as the Olomu Bridge that defied completion for 29 years was commissioned by Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan at Okpare-Olomu in Ughelli South Local Government Area. Hundreds of people from the area turned out to witness the commissioning as well as show their appreciation to the Uduaghan led administration for completing the project which has for many years defied completion. Dr. Uduaghan who was accompanied by Deputy Governor, Professor Amos Utuama and several commissioners as well as top government functionaries cut the tape to officially commission the bridge project and dedicated it to God. Governor Uduaghan described the heavy downpour at the commissioning of the Olomu Bridge project as a blessing noting that the bridge is strategic as it provides a convenient link between the people of Ughelli South as well as other road users. The Governor promised to ensure the provision of more urban mass transit buses to ease the pains of commuters in the axis. The Governor said he was happy that the strategic bridge which has shortened the traveling distance between Warri and Ughelli has been completed Also as part of activities marking the third anniversary of his administration, Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan was at Okhan/ Agbarho and Otu-Jeremi were he commissioned the Okhan Bridge and Otu-Jeremi Township roads respectively. In separate speeches, the governor thanked the people of Okpe kingdom, which Okhan is part of, for their peaceful disposition and pledged that government will continue to support the Okpe monarch, HRM Orhue 1 , to sustain peace in his domain.
