ASABA AIRPORT GRANTED OPERATIONAL LICENSE, UDUAGHAN DISCLOSES

• GETS DELTA NORTH NOD FOR SECOND TENURE

THE Asaba International Airport which is near completion has been granted operational license by the Federal government, Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan has disclosed.

Governor Uduaghan who made the disclosure when members of the Anioma Political Forum (APF) paid him a courtesy call in Asaba, said with the license, the airport will immediately go into operation when completed this year.

“The federal government has approved the license for this airport, with this we are going to accelerate work on it and complete it within a few months time. I assure you that this airport will become functional soon,” he said, assuring that the airport will create economic boom in the state.

Dr. Uduaghan promised to ensure that the contractor increased the pace work so that within the next few months the airport will be operational.

The governor who also announced that the new Government House will be ready soon assured the Anioma Political Forum of the even development in the state.

Dr. Uduaghan however charged the forum to apply common sense in all its activities. He described common sense as a vital instrument of peace which when used in life endeavors will guarantee success and prevent crisis.

“Most of the things we do require common sense. The more we use common sense the better life will be for all. So apply common sense in your activities and see how easy things will be,” he said.

The Chairman of the Anioma Political Forum, Prof. B.I.C. Ijeoma reiterated the total support of the forum for Dr. Uduaghan’s second tenure bid stressing that the support was unflinching and irrevocable.

Prof. Ijeoma noted that the leaders of the forum decided to visit the governor to thank him for his vision, desire and encouragement for the forum, adding that the purpose of the forum was to unite the Anioma people, to ensure peace and support the PDP family for the even development of the state.

“We have come to thank you for your vision and particular desire to see that Delta North should speak in one voice. Your dynamic approach to the unity of Delta North is alarming. We have come to say that the forum will support your administration,” Prof. Ijeoma said.

“We stand by you but you have a role to play. We request you to assist us to make it possible that someone from Delta North succeeds you in 2015,” he said.

The leader of the delegation, Senator Nosike lkpo later presented the governor with an Elephant tusk, a symbol of Anioma Political Authority of Royalty and dignity in recognition of the governor’s common sense approach to governance.
