As the world celebrates Christmas, Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan and members of his family were at the First Baptist Church Warri where they joined other Christians to mark the day.

After, the special rendition, Governor Uduaghan wished the people of the State a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. “I wish all Deltans a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. This is a period of joy and also sober reflection on the reason for the season. The celebration of the birth of Christ should serve as a moment of reawakening to the virtues of peace, love and faith in God. I pray that all Deltans emulate the virtues of Christ and allow his teaching into their hearts so that together we can all build a safer and better society,” he said.
Deacon Irikefe Obu who delivered the sermon said that God sent His son Jesus Christ to redeem mankind from sin and urged Christians to reflect on the significance of the redemptive action of God.
Deacon Irikefe called on Christians and none Christians to remember the less privileged in the society by giving them all necessary support to benefit from the joy of the season.
“My prayer today,” Deacon Obu said is that ‘we all come to a true understanding of what this day stand for and use it to spread the message of hope, love and peace.”
The pastor in charge of the First Baptist Church , Warri, Reverend Ugbede, in a remark charged Christians to use Christmas to renew their faith in God.
