UDUAGHAN INSPECTS UGBENU-KOKO ROAD DUALISATION PROJECT, ASSURES TIMELY COMPLETION

Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan has said that the Ugbenu-Koko road dualization project would be completed on schedule to enhance the planned establishment of the Export Processing Zone.
Dr. Uduaghan who announced this during an inspection tour of the project in Koko said the project would be completed on schedule to enhance economic boom and development in the area.
He sought the co-operation of the host community to enable the smooth execution of the Export Free Trade Zone adding that he has confidence on the contracting firm executing the job to do a good work.
The Governor expressed satisfaction on the level of work done as the project was located on a very difficult terrain, his saying “l am pleased with the level and pace of work, even on a Sunday workers and heavy equipments are on site working.”
He took time out to inspect the level of work on the swampy terrain spanning nine kilometers out of the thirty-four kilometer long road and commended the effort of Levant Construction Limited in charge of the project.
Earlier, the Governor paid a courtesy visit on the Olaraja of Koko, Chief Victor Nana and commended the community for their understanding, noting that they have come to realize that the area is yearning for development.
The Governor observed that apart from the Ugbenu-Koko road dualization, the Koko-Ogheye road has also been awarded for construction by the Niger-Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to the same construction firm.
Dr. Uduaghan promised a formal meeting with the community to discuss the Export Free Zone project, stressing that such dialogue was necessary to eliminate rumors about the project.
In a brief remark, the Olaraja Chief Victor Nana commended the various developmental projects being extended to the area by the state government.
He appealed to the Governor to make out time for interaction with the community to enable the people get abreast with projects in the area.
