TRUSTING IN THE POWER OF HIS RESURRECTION, BY GOV UDUAGHAN AT EASTER GOVERNOR EMMANUEL UDUAGHAN Trusting in the Power of His Resurrection Dear Deltans, Once again, we are at Easter when the light of the risen Christ dawns on us: calling us to rise from the gloom of Good Friday and share in the joy of His Resurrection. The powers of darkness that put Jesus to death have been defeated once and for all with this triumph over death. 2. I, therefore, join fellow Christians in the ecstatic feeling of joy, which enables every true believer share in the immeasurable greatness of His power for us who believe (Eph. 1:19). 3. Let us gratefully recall the moment in our lives where the Power of Resurrection has been active in us. The nights, which gave way to new dawns, the failures, which turned into the revival of new energies, the resentments, which gave way to peace of the soul, the dead ends, which revealed transfigured upward perspectives, the discouragements, which opened on to new sources of dynamism, the moment when, overwhelmed by a sense that ours might be a mission impossible, we realize that it was not a matter of our own doing, our own mission, our own abilities but that it was all the work, mission, and power of the one who lives in us and operates in us through our own weakness. 4. As you are all aware, Easter is indisputably the most important landmark in the Christian faith. Let us, therefore, learn and exhibit in our actions and utterances, that we have imbibed the lessons of the crucifixion of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. 5. This is essentially important, because the efforts of Government to improve the well-being of our people can only yield positive results, when both the leadership and the citizens work together for the integrated development of our dear State. It is my fervent hope, therefore, that the spirit of Easter, which include: love, peace, meekness, endurance, tolerance and faith in God, pervade our daily lives. 6. Beloved Deltans, once again, I challenge all of you to use this Easter season as a time to rekindle our faith in God. We celebrate in vain, if we continue to pursue our political, business and other aspirations through vindictiveness, mutual distrust and fanning embers of disharmony. 7. In the true spirit of Easter, it is my fervent wish and prayers that the good Lord through the resurrection power, restores to our dear State and its people, peace, love, unity and brotherhood. 8.
